What works offline
Core recording uses the phone's location and your selected boom width. AgriPath saves field boundaries, equipment profiles, completed sessions, and the active job locally. You do not need an AgriPath account to record a session.

On Android, Settings > Tracking-only Map displays your local field and coverage overlays without satellite imagery. The app also switches to this mode when it detects that the phone is offline. A blank background does not mean the saved field or recorded coverage has been deleted.
Before leaving cell service
- Install and open the app while connected. Check that it launches, then create and select the equipment profile with your actual boom width.
- Allow location access. Follow the app's permission prompts, including precise and background location for recording with the screen off. Leave the phone's Location setting on.
- Check the GPS badge outdoors. No cell service and no usable GPS are different problems. Do not assume a location is usable just because a map is visible.
- Run a short test without applying chemicals. Record a route, lock the screen briefly while moving, reopen the app, and confirm that the recorded coverage is present.
- Plan for power. Start with sufficient charge and an appropriate charging option for the length of the job.
Screen-off recording and interruptions
Starting a job requests background location so recording can continue while the screen is locked. Android can still interrupt tracking. A successful test on one phone does not establish that every device or battery setting will behave the same way.
Active jobs save on the device as points arrive. If AgriPath recovers an interrupted job, it restores that job paused. Review the existing coverage, then tap Resume when ready. Missing GPS points cannot be reconstructed, and the app avoids drawing a connecting stripe across the interruption.
Use Pause for travel you do not want counted, such as a refill trip. Resume at the next recording location. The boom width stays fixed for the current job, even if you choose another equipment profile.
Finish with a record you can find
Tap Finish Job, enter the session details, and choose Save Session. Open History and confirm that the session appears. Records stay on that phone; there is no automatic cloud account or backup service in AgriPath.
When connected again, you can export a saved session as GeoJSON or KML. Read the GPS accuracy guide if the route contains gaps or the coverage differs from what you expected.
